This is a fitting move that probably won’t surprise too many folks. It’s been announced that Minecraft will soon have its own series of Legos.
What’s more interesting though is the way this came about. Mojang had been working with Lego to get the project going through the use of Lego CUUSOO, a web site where ideas are submitted for candidate possibilities of future sets. A project must get 10,000 votes to qualify for candidacy and…well, Minecraft Legos got the support it needed, has passed its review as a possibility, and development will now begin.
No word on when we might see any glimpses of the project, but I’d guess you should look around Summer, during the big convention season. San Diego Comic-Con would probably be a good bet. If not sooner, of course.
